I booked a hotel ONLY because I wanted to use the pool. I called and confirmed pool was open and operational and it was. Once I got there the pool was closed. I called Booking.com and was assured I would be given a refund due to the inconvenience. I booked another hotel and left the first one. Days later while pursuing a refund I was given about 10 hoops to jump through to get my money back. 1st hoop: they will refund me but have to wait about a month to do so. 2nd hoop: need to call back during a different time since they person I need to talk to isn't there. 3rd hoop: have to send them a screenshot of my banking transactions. 4th hoop; have to send that screenshot to an email address that is shared and monitored by many different people. 5th hoop; still was unable to refund so I would have to call back at a later time. Mind you all these hoops started AFTER they told me I need to contact the hotel FIRST. Of course as you can imagine the hotel told me to contact booking.com.

This is an OK company If you need a quick hotel for the night and don't foresee any issues with your booking. But god himself can not help you get your money back. They take your money quickly but make you work so hard to get it back it's just not worth it.

They know what they are doing and they are great it at. They probably get bonuses for not giving what should be legitimate refunds. They are sitting back counting their money while you waste yours. I really hope the coronavirus takes a toll on them I would love to see this company fold.

The landlord from there. Clive pyott. Hit me stole 3days of stay money. And was trying to own n groom me. Knock this back he had the balls to slap me cos im very unwell mentally. He tried to offer his bed n kiss my neck. Thought i would depend on him n believe i wouldnt knock him bk. Dont want this to happen to other. I was on street 4 too days n mentally scarred by this. Reported and a reporter is involved n lawyers. Please do not use his properties

VERY bad customer service and rude staff.

Very bad customer service and rude staff. This company rips people off to get bookings and are not helpful. I will be talking to a solicitor to take legal action against them.

Booking is absolute garbage and they lie

Went to book a hotel booking claims they wont charge your credit card until you stay at the hotel. Just checked my card and the entire amount was charged. Booking sucks use expedia or one of the other travel sites but anything but booking. The entire reason I used booking was because I didnt want to be charged. Its too much of a damn hassle to call booking and the hotel and fight with them over a charge that if refunded would be 5-10 business days anyhow. Screw booking dot com. Terrible experience. Never again.

Booking will bend over backwards to take your money

Booking promised a free cancellation by a specified date. I cancelled a day before that and was informed "not to worry sir, I already cancelled" but they didn't. Now booking says they won't cancel without hotel agreeing but the hotel NEVER answers the phone for them or me. So it is a giant game!

I have plead with them and they talk over me, tell me I am a bad person that just needs to take it east. They tell me they have no supervisors for my unimportant problem. They tell me that I didn't cancel. A bunch of unprofessional people. Terrible customer service. Would never do business with again!

I will be pursuing further recourse against this company for their behavior. Companies like this should not exist.

Shame I have to give it one star, poor customer service

Shame I have to give it one star, no option for no stars. Customer services is shocking, all hotels closed but I can't get a refund.... my fault apparently because I couldn't make it????

No assistance from booking.com

A year ago I booked a Villa holiday in Italy through booking.com for over 4000 euros. I am due to travel th last week in May 2021. I booked flights with BA to Brind but due to the pandemic these were cancelled. A subsequent booking with Easyjet was also cancelled. So I have no realistic means of getting to the villa. This week Italy were placed on the Amber list of countries with Government advice not to travel for leisure purposes. The Foreign Office advice means that travel insurance is invalid. The fault seems to lie with the Italian Government who have only vaccinated 25% of their population. To date booking.com have been less than helpful in putting pressure on the villa owners (who have taken all of my money) to give me a fair cancellation fee.

Reservation cancelled with no notice

I went to Hawaii for two weeks and the day before my second week when we were to switch to our new condo booked via booking.com I still hadn't received check-in information for our new place. I called booking several times throughout the day and they said everything was fine with the reservation and they contacted the property. Hours before my reservation I still hadn't received check in information and the property would not respond to me or booking. It took me 4 hours of late calls with booking.com on my vacation and tracking down the property third party owner, vaya"Vacaystay" on the internet to find out what was going on, which was that the terrible third party company "Vacaystay" cancelled my reservation without notification to me or booking.com. Which left us pretty screwed trying to find a comparable reservation the night before. Booking helped us book something but we had a far inferior place, one less bedroom than our original booking, a bedroom and bathroom door that wouldn't close and a shower that wouldn't drain. The property was very dated and had poor quality amenities compared to our original booking. Nightmare experience.Now, to top it all off, 14 days later I still have not received a refund for their negligence and terrible business practices. We were told it would be 7-12 days to receive a refund.This has been a terrible experience and although I have been a loyal booking customer for many years and I will never use this service again for the way I was treated.

Don't use them

Don't use them ! I booked a hotel for me and my girlfriend and the hotel had to cancel the booking because the room wasn't available , i never got any money back . Customer support is a joke so it's better to call the hotel directly rather than use the website or app

I will never book on booking.com ever again booked early get to the mansion people living in the house and mind you we are 10 people with 2 rooms I’m like wow we booked out the whole mansion house is extremely dirty the lady who have the property didn’t even know we was coming never again plz be carful who you book with cause these photos can sale you a dream...Had trouble getting our Money back don’t get the mansion in New Orleans watch out on Airbnb Expedia it’s the jazzy mansion you gonna thank me later

Booking.com is a rip-off portal

My confirmed and fully paid booking was cancekd by this company at last minute. Neither any compensation nor any equivalent alternative offered by them. My vacations plan spoiled by this unfriendly company. Never use this portal, because they can destroy your plans with their greedy attitude.

HORRIBLE!

HORRIBLE!! I used Booking.com to get a rental car from Enterprise for a spring break family vacation in Fort Lauderdale, FL to only find out upon arrival that Enterprise didn't have a reservation for me. I got screwed and had to pay double to get a car. NEVER USE THIS BRITISH COMPANY THAT HAS NO CONTACT INFORMATION.

Over 400£ for no holiday at all !! Disgusting

Booking.com have allowed a property owner they market to take over 400£ from me ! My booking was originally for a week to Apartamentos la Mer in Altea, Spain in March 2020. This was cancelled as Covid saw cancellation of all flights. It was rearranged twice and each time Covid forced a change. I could have cancelled and lost just 100£ but instead Booking.com passed me over to the property directly with no information on my changing rights. My rearranged booking was due to be next week - a time when it is illegal to fly on holiday from the UK. Despite this Booking.com will not refund my money or insist the property give me a voucher or credit note or partial refund. Both parties are fully aware that the changes have been beyond my control and have been notified at each stage. Ryanair have been very fair and honest and refunded my flights - Booking.com have acted appallingly just allowing the property owners to keep my money !!! It was a holiday for my 17 year old daughter and myself to celebrate her finishing her exams. She has had the most terrible year - no prom no exams no holiday and lockdown !!! I will not allow you and Apartamentos La Mer, Altea to get away with this and have lodged a formal complaint. I expect to hear from you as each email I send is simply auto replied. Disgusting I will never use you again unless I have a satisfactory resolution.
